The Chaney Clan: Spring Break and Easter

Oh how I love Spring Break. CJ got to be home all week, and we got a lot of work done. However our list does not show that we got that much done.

We have had a hole in our master bedroom wall since a little after we moved in. So a year and a half later we are fixing the hole in the wall. But I think this is CJ's major headache. On the other side of the wall is our master bath sinks. When we put new carpet in the house we found the leak they did not connect the plumbing so all the water going down the drain was going into the wall. CJ fixed the leak right after we moved in...but the hole has reamined. (We also found termites when we opened up the wall...Can you say MONEY PIT) While he had the wall all opened up we decided it would be a good time to replace the light in the master bath. We had a nasty floresent light so we replaced it with two new lights. This ment we had to run electricity for two lights instead of one. CJ is great working with the electrical stuff...but when the house was built they did something weird so CJ could not figure out how to get the lights to work.

So....set back number 1.

CJ called my brother the electrician and tried to figure it out. Without being able to see what the problem was Paul was not much help. So we put in a call to the secretary at CJ's school. Her husband is an electrician. Since we were going to have to pay someone we wanted to pay someone we knew. He could not get over here until Friday night.

Set back number 2.

So we waited for Mr. Bunkley to come and did some of the other stuff on the list. But the wall had over taken the entire house so we could not clean out the garage or other stuff.

Set back number 3.

Here is a picture of CJ working on the wall. Friday night Mr. Bunkley came and fixed the lights so now we have lights and we now have sheetrock on the walls. (CJ stayed up until about 1:00 on Friday night to get it done.) Mr. Bunkley would not let CJ pay him because Mrs. Bunkley got to come and get her "Alyssa fix." What a blessing. Now we just need to get the sheetrock taped and bedded and then Mr. Franklin another teacher from CJ's school is going to come and do the texturing in our master bath and bedroom.

My parents got to come for the Easter weekend and it was great to have them in town. The kids love them and they love spoiling their grandkids. Here are a few pictures of the fun they had.
